| While the mystery at the core isn't as strong as the historical element of the novel, it's hard to give this one a bad review. The setting is fascinating--it reveals the particulars of life in a small, all-but-forgotten locale during World War Two in a way that is best comparable to 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' (though that is about all the two books have in common). The story is not without its thrills and suspense, though. I expect this one to be pretty popular. |
