Room by Mitzi |
| A sweet but disturbing book. I found this book a little difficult to read as this story is told by a 5 year old boy with no exposure to the outside world. His words are curious. This is yet another story that demonstrates what a mother will do to protect her child. A very good read! |

Amazing Read! by tikam0214 |
| The idea of this plot is so different from other fiction that I have read. While the subject is sensitive and has the ability to become depressing, when told in the voice of Jack, a five year old, it softens the edge of human captivity. Oddly, it is a feel good book! |

| Summary: |
Narrator Jack and his mother, who was kidnapped seven years earlier when she was a 19-year-old college student, celebrate his fifth birthday. They live in a tiny, 11-foot-square soundproofed cell in a converted shed in the kidnapper's yard. The sociopath, whom Jack has dubbed Old Nick, visits at night, grudgingly doling out food and supplies. But Ma, as Jack calls her, proves to be resilient and resourceful--and attempts a nail-biting escape. |
