| At first I was worried that too much is given away at the beginning. In the group we talked about the tense in which it's written (future imperfect, as Binnie pointed out). In a way it feels like a life lived backwards, as life can feel sometimes, as if the strength of a great passion can bend and involve all passages of experience into one. Personally I felt the quality of romantic vision was like A S Byatt- which is to say, great writing indeed. |
